2023 Rock Bottom Malbec/ Cabernet Franc
*** Enter the Description of this product
Tasting notes
Sourced from Rock Bottom Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley, this blend of Malbec (66%) and Cabernet Franc (34%) offers depth, structure, and spice. Fermented and aged separately before blending, each variety contributes distinct character—Malbec brings plush fruit and richness, while Cabernet Franc adds lift and savory complexity. Aromatics lead with red plum, cherry, fig, and baking spice, layered with tobacco leaf, leather, and a hint of cola. The palate is medium in weight and finely structured, with bright pie cherry fruit and a lingering, spiced finish.
Production notes
Malbec and Cabernet Franc destemmed separately into own fermentation vessels. Cabernet Franc: 4 day cold soak, 19 days total on skins. Malbec: 8 day cold soak, 19 days total time on skins. The wines were pressed off separately and aged for 17 months in 50% new French oak. Wines were then blended and aged in stainless steel for one month prior to bottling.
