2019 Wilkens Family Wine Chardonnay
Tasting notes
Nose filled with green apple, Meyer lemon, laced with hints of pineapple and lemon grass. Mouth feel is lush with depth and balance medium plus acidity. Finish is medium long and layered
Production notes
Grapes were picked in early morning and whole cluster pressed at receipt of fruit. Juice was allowed to settle overnight. In the morning the clear juice was put into a combination of new and Neutral barrel all French oak. Low and slow fermentation occurred over 2 months secondary completed 40 days later and 15-month elevage. The best two barrels of the vintage were selected for this wine. Only 43 cases were produced.
